In the mouth this gris is tightly wound, fresh and vibrant, showing none of the oiliness or fatness that too often has come to characterise this variety.  Deliciously fresh Granny Smith apple and Meyer lemon flavours support the more generous flavours of leatherwood honey and roasted chestnuts.  The wine lingers and lingers, fresh and with just enough pleasant tannin  to cut and act as a foil to the richness. A superb effort, exemplifying the quality that can be achieved from this variety with careful vineyard management and winemaking.
